What is the significance of Ynysangharad War Memorial Park
Ynysangharad War Memorial Park was established to commemorate the local men who lost their lives in the First World War, officially opening in 1923. Today, the park retains many of its original features, including tennis courts, a cricket ground, a football field, a bandstand, and ornamental elements such as flowerbeds and a sunken garden. It also includes Lido Ponty which was originally built shortly after in 1927, now restored for the 21st Century visitor. The park also includes a monument dedicated to the composers of the Welsh National Anthem, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau.
